The goal of the IAC is to stimulate friendship and communication between professionals in the field of ceramics in all countries. The IAC develops and encourages all forms of international cooperation to promote ceramics and to encourage and maintain production at the highest level of quality in all ceramic cultures.<\/p>\n

Since its founding in 1952 by Henry J. Reynaud, IAC President until his death in 1964, the organization of the IAC has changed and evolved. Originally, it had a strong diplomatic background, merging representatives from national museums and cultural organizations. Ceramists where invited as consultants.<\/p>\n

Today the Academy is the only association devoted to the medium of clay that functions on an international level. The IAC brings together ceramists, potters, artists, designers, authors, collectors, gallerists, conservators, restorers, curators as well as a panel of prestigious institutions.<\/p>\n

Thanks to their respective forms of expertise, members of the IAC are regularly invited to participate in Congresses, residencies, to submit articles for publication as well as being asked to jury international exhibitions and competitions.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

The biannual publication of a Bulletin informs the members about the projects and activities of the IAC. Also, an exhibition catalogue of the members is published at each Congress. In 1973, the IAC initiated a documentary archive center at Mus\u00e9e Ariana, which offers vast information on contemporary ceramics. These archives are constantly enriched by catalogues, books and reviews submitted by members.<\/p>\n

In 2015, the IAC presents itself in a new light, with a logo unifying its two official languages and a website intended to offer a dynamic platform to the ceramic world.<\/p>\n

An editorial section is planned for this website which will offer different views on an art which has continued to change and grow throughout its long history.<\/p>\n

The election of new members takes place every second year. Recently, attention was given to countries whose ceramic culture is not yet represented at the IAC. Today, the IAC consists of over 950 members, representing 78 countries from all continents.<\/p>\n

Depuis sa fondation en 1952 par Henry J. Reynaud, pr\u00e9sident de l\u2019AIC jusqu'\u00e0 son d\u00e9c\u00e8s en 1964, la composition de l'Acad\u00e9mie a fortement chang\u00e9. A l'origine, cette association \u00e0 forte connotation diplomatique, r\u00e9unit des repr\u00e9sentants de mus\u00e9es nationaux et d\u2019organisations culturelles. Les c\u00e9ramistes y sont alors invit\u00e9s en tant que conseillers.<\/p>\r\n

L\u2019Acad\u00e9mie est aujourd\u2019hui l\u2019unique association qui agit au niveau international. Elle rassemble c\u00e9ramistes, potiers, artistes, designers, \u00e9crivains, collectionneurs, galeristes, conservateurs, restaurateurs et un panel d\u2019institutions prestigieuses. Sur un rythme biennal, l\u2019AIC organise un Congr\u00e8s comportant son Assembl\u00e9e G\u00e9n\u00e9rale statutaire, des conf\u00e9rences li\u00e9es \u00e0 une th\u00e9matique sp\u00e9cifique, des expositions, internationales et nationales, et soutient diverses initiatives priv\u00e9es dans des galeries ou autres lieux culturels.<\/td>\r\nGrace \u00e0 la qualit\u00e9 et la repr\u00e9sentativit\u00e9 de ses membres, la venue de l\u2019AIC stimule au sein du pays h\u00f4te la r\u00e9alisation d\u2019activit\u00e9s culturelles, et permet que se nouent des liens institutionnels privil\u00e9gi\u00e9s. El objetivo de la AIC es estimular la amistad y la comunicaci\u00f3n entre profesionales en el campo de la cer\u00e1mica en todos los pa\u00edses. La AIC desarrolla y alienta todas las formas de cooperaci\u00f3n internacional para promover la cer\u00e1mica y para fomentar y mantener la producci\u00f3n al m\u00e1s alto nivel de calidad en todas las culturas cer\u00e1micas.
Desde su fundaci\u00f3n en 1952 por Henry J. Reynaud, presidente de la AIC hasta su muerte en 1964, la organizaci\u00f3n de la AIC ha cambiado y evolucionado. Originalmente, ten\u00eda una s\u00f3lida formaci\u00f3n diplom\u00e1tica, fusionando representantes de museos nacionales y organizaciones culturales. Los ceramistas fueron invitados como consultores.
Hoy en d\u00eda, la Academia es la \u00fanica asociaci\u00f3n dedicada al medio de la arcilla que trabaja a nivel internacional. La AIC re\u00fane a ceramistas, alfareros, artistas, dise\u00f1adores, autores, coleccionistas, galeristas, conservadores, restauradores, curadores, as\u00ed como a un amplio panel de prestigiosas instituciones.
Gracias a sus respectivas formas de expertizaje, los miembros de la AIC son invitados regularmente a participar en congresos, residencias, a enviar art\u00edculos para su publicaci\u00f3n as\u00ed como a participar en el jurado de exposiciones y concursos internacionales.

Bienalmente, la AIC organiza un Congreso internacional que incluye una conferencia centrada en un tema espec\u00edfico, exposiciones nacionales e internacionales y el apoyo continuo a iniciativas privadas de galer\u00edas y otros centros culturales. Gracias a la calidad y al car\u00e1cter representativo de sus miembros, el Congreso de la AIC estimula las actividades culturales en el pa\u00eds anfitri\u00f3n y promueve nuevas relaciones entre instituciones, contribuyendo de manera manifiesta al desarrollo de las sinergias necesarias para la promoci\u00f3n del arte cer\u00e1mico.
Adem\u00e1s, desde 2009, la AIC ha organizado en los a\u00f1os intermedios un ciclo de conferencias denominado \"D\u00eda de la AIC\", que tiene lugar en el Museo Ariana de Ginebra.<\/p>\r\n<\/td>\r\n

La publicaci\u00f3n semestral de un Bolet\u00edn informa a los miembros sobre los proyectos y actividades de la AIC. Adem\u00e1s, en cada congreso se publica un cat\u00e1logo de la exposici\u00f3n de los miembros. En 1973, la AIC inici\u00f3 un archivo documental en el Museo Ariana, que ofrece amplia informaci\u00f3n sobre la cer\u00e1mica contempor\u00e1nea.
